Goodies from Gouda
Yesterday was a holiday here in the Netherlands (again! there are 3 national holidays in one month here…sweet!) so we spent the afternoon in the historical city of Gouda. This city is most famous for…well you guessed it~Cheese! We visited the cheese museum in the old weigh house, and of course bought a cheese wheel from the farm…YUM! Gouda is also known for The Sint Janskerk which has a great collection of stunning stained glass windows and according to wikipedia it was already a tourist attraction in the 17th century! We ended the day with snacks and drinks at the Grand Café situated right in front of the beautiful town hall, it was a cool place, a family run restaurants that’s been there since 1916 with lots of room an beautiful Art Deco murals on the walls. It was a fun little trip, here are a few pics!
